News & Events

KFICC engages in a variety of activities that help in the dissemination of Krishnamurti’s teachings all round the year. Through the initiatives taken by its staff and volunteers, it always keeps an eye on expanding its horizon while keeping its spirit intact. All the activities held under the auspices of this organization are intended not to interpret Krishnamurti’s teachings.

Krishnamurti Foundation India Cuttack Centre is glad to announce its 3rd Annual Theme Conclave.

After exploring “Awareness in Daily Living” (2014) and “The Living and Dying of I” (2015), this year we intend to explore ourselves in the mirror of relationship.

This year KFICC presents “RELATIONSHIP MATTERS” as the theme of the Annual Theme Conclave 2016 at KONARK from 23rd to 25th Dec. 2016.

We cordially invite you to participate.

It is the intention of our Conclaves to create space and platform that would enable the serious inquirer to enter into a spirit of serious inquiry. The various activities are designed to take us closer to the theme of the conclave and we hope to learn as the different activities unfold during the conclave.

One of the most vital things of life is self-understanding, that is, to understand what you are. Is there any instrument to explore the ‘self’ – the ‘me’ – the ‘I’?  Life happens in daily relationship, which is being related to somebody or something. So is it possible to explore ourselves by holding relationship as a mirror? And if we do, what will the mirror show? In the process of showing, the mirror of relationship will perhaps encourage us to wonder if relationship exists in conformity with social norms; if it is an expression of our deeply hidden psychological urges; and if it is possible to lay the foundation of a completely new kind of relationship. One can also explore if ‘listening’ and ‘observing’ play any role in understanding relationship, and what is the place of ‘awareness’ in unraveling relationship.
These and many such topics will be explored in the conclave because, once again, life is all about relationship. Yes, relationship matters!

In the words  of J Krishnamurti:

Relationship is the mirror in which we can see ourselves as we are. All life is a movement in relationship. There is no living thing on earth which is not related to something or other. Even the hermit, a man who goes off to a lonely spot, is related to the past, is related to those who are around him. There is no escape from relationship. In that relationship which is the mirror in which we can see ourselves, we can discover what we are, our reactions, our prejudices, our fears, depression, anxieties, loneliness, sorrow, pain, grief. We can also discover whether we love or there is no such thing as love. So we will examine the question of relationship because that is the basis of love.

Yatri Niwas, Konark (Odisha)

A few words about the venue:

KONARK: “Here the language of stone surpasses the language of man.” – Rabindranath Tagore

The magnificent UNESCO World Heritage monument, the Sun Temple at Konark, has left many awed since ages. It is one of the most stunning monuments of religious architecture in the world.
Built in 1238-1264 AD this massive structure sits in solitary splendour surrounded by drifting sand. Today it is located 2 kms from the Bay of Bengal, but originally the ocean came almost up to its base. Until fairly recent times, in fact, the temple was close enough to the shore to be used as a navigational point by European sailor who referred to it as the ‘Black Pagoda’.
This glorious monument is just on the opposite side of our venue and 5 mins walk to reach its base. The Chandrabhaga sea beach is just 3 kms from our stay or venue. This breath taking monument and the sea beach has always been a major attraction of the world. Puri an important tourist place is only  35 kms from the venue.
